The Utility Management Consultancy (UMC) comprises three key business sections: Consultancy Services, Pole Leasing, and Meter Central Laboratory.
The primary mandate of UMC is to support Kenya Power's revenue diversification strategy by developing and delivering value-added services to both internal and external customers.
Consultancy Services — Specialized technical and advisory services for internal and external customers.
Pole Leasing — Management and optimization of pole infrastructure for telecommunications connectivity.
Meter Central Laboratory — KENAS-accredited testing and calibration laboratory operating to ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
To provide specialized consultancy services to both internal and external customers. Consultancy services offered to external customers are competitively priced to ensure value while generating additional revenue for the Company.
The section is responsible for management and optimization of pole leasing services. It provides specialized pole leasing solutions designed to support modern telecommunications infrastructure enabling seamless connectivity of service providers and end users.
We also implement Special Utility Poles that share both utility power lines and licensed service providers.
Meter Central Laboratory (MCL) is an accredited laboratory under the Kenya National Accreditation Service (KENAS), the national body responsible for accrediting testing and calibration laboratories in Kenya.
The laboratory operates in accordance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017, the international standard for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
